What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body has the ability to heal itself with a little help. Osteopathic treatment is enjoyable and effective. Techniques include manipulation, deep tissue massage, spinal adjustments and stretching.
Back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, leg and hip pain, foot and ankle pain, wrist and arm pain, frozen shoulder, trapped nerves, slipped disc, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other conditions, can be relieved quickly and often permanently.

What do we do?

Osteopaths seek to restore the optimal functioning of the body, where possible, without the use of drugs or surgery. It is suitable for almost everyone.

We should all be given the tools to heal ourselves. That’s why we never encourage dependency and our patients leave in less or no pain, with their own personal tool-kit to manage their own health from there on.
Osteopathy is a Primary Care Profession - meaning that patients can come and see us instead of their GP. Patients may be referred by their doctor, or may opt to see an osteopath independently. Being granted Primary Care status gives us similar status to a doctor or dentist and, more importantly, guarantees that you receive the equivalent, high level of protection. If when we meet we consider your condition would be better seen by your GP we will tell you. If we consider your condition is in urgent need of medical attention, we will ensure you are seen immediately by a doctor.
The key tools for osteopathic diagnosis include listening to the patient's history, examining muscles and joints and observing movements. We may listen to your heart or breathing if we suspect the involvement of either system. X -rays, scans and other clinical investigations are also used if required.
